Excited to welcome Yuki to our lab

I’m very excited to welcome new postdoc Yukiko Shimizu (PhD 2019, University of Michigan) to our research group. Yuki has done some very interesting work combining least-squares shadowing with model reduction, and will be working on space–time formulations for nonlinear model reduction using autoencoders.

My research combines machine learning, computational physics, and high-performance computing. The objective is to discover structure in data to drastically reduce the cost of simulating nonlinear dynamical systems at extreme scale.
